Free Burma awareness

Free Burma!

Great to see that the Free Burma action made it up to EU’s commission!

Margot Wallström, the EC vice president, or her PR person, posted a Free Burma picture on her blog too. This post definitely counts more than any other super A-list Technorati high ranking SEO mastermind blogger because it comes out of a direction which obviously can put pressure on certain governments.

Free Burma!

Free Burma!

I support the Free Burma Action because I felt the need to do something. I’m a lucky person, I was born into a world where previous generations already had fought for my rights. I’m deeply impressed by the people in Burma, who protest against their brutal government, stand peacefully in front of armed soldiers, risk their life and ask for nothing more than democracy. Something I experienced my entire life as given. Nobody can tell if this action will help, chances that it’ll put pressure on the Burmese or Chinese government are very low, but it’s still better than do nothing and wait what happens next.

More info on upcoming actions can be found in the Facebook group “Support the monks’ protest in Burma“.

Street Art tour in Vienna

copycatMy company is celebrating its 50th year anniversary (yes, the institution is that old!) tomorrow on 4th Oct and we have several micro events happening all over the day, ending in a ball tomorrow night.

One of them is called “Street Art – the readable city”, dealing with communication and interaction in public space. We set up a short tour through the 7th Viennese district, Neubau, passing a few Street Art hotspots and Inoperable, the Street Art gallery here. Our tour-guide will be Clemens, an Artist who knows the local Street Art scene very well and can tell some fascinating stories about the concept and motivation of Street Art during the tour.

Anyone interested is of course very welcome to join us!

Start: 4pm, Urban-Loritz-Platz, in front of the Hauptbibliothek
expected end: 6pm, Museumsquartier

Play ball!

If you think about applying for GALILEO contracts, you should have in mind that qualification is not as relevant as the location of your company’s headquarters. I would recommend to open up at least a P.O. box in every European country, because at the moment you can’t tell which national politician will win the game on GALILEO’s budget re-distribution.

Fact is, that the political statements around GALILEO become more absurd every day. An Overall success story of European project management!
