Illuminated public transport

Not sure if this is 100% legal, but it looks like one hell of a fun:

Geo Blog Search

Inspired by gps tracklogs’s GPS data search tool I set up this morning a customized search engine based on Google’s Co-op service called Geo Blog Search. It includes and searches every geo related blog I could find so far, but is still open for contribution, meaning that if you know a site which isn’t yet included, you can mark and add it to the Geo Blog Search (never tried this but it can’t be so difficult to figure out how it works).

The whole thing was pretty straightforward and can serve well if you want to dig out some topics the “geoblogosphere” was talking about.

Additionally I created a little search extension in order to access the customized search directly from the browser’s search bar. If you’re reading this in Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer 7 you should now see the option Add “Geo Blog Search” in your search engine drop down list.

Hard Candy

Hard CandyI already thought that after Viennale I’ve seen enough movies this month, but Hard Candy, directed by David Slade, is a brilliant controversy film about an elder guy and a young girl knowing each other on the internet.

In this thrilling story you never know who’s the bad guy and who’s the good guy. Your sympathy constantly switches between the two main characters and until the end you won’t find out who’s right and who’s wrong.

Right after the first minutes I knew that I’ll love this film just because of it’s visual impression, it’s colors and camera. The girl’s skin, fantastic performance by Ellen Page btw, sometimes appears almost snow white, surrounded by an intense bright colored scenery. The minimalistic setting, mainly a two person show taking place in an apartment, lets Hard Candy almost feel like a theater-play. Almost, if it wasn’t speed up by fast video cutting, which, in addition to the controversy and disturbing story, sucks you right into the picture.

A good one.
