Smart and simple

There is a good chance that this is probably one of the most useful mashups ever:

On UseAMap.com you can mark and tag a location, add a short description and share the human readable link (e.g. usamap.com/mylocation) with anyone you want to.

Just 2 steps to mark and share your location.

Simply brilliant!

I wonder how they deal with geospam, since there is no registration, tag moderation or any other barrier to add tags and locations. To me, the site seems very vulnerable to spam robots.

    Hi,

I’ve just finished my Ajax Google Calendar reader in Combination with Google Maps, it’s working pretty good.
The Google Maps feature in combination with a public shared google calendar only works if the “where” field is filled in properly! (ie: Amsterdam, Netherlands or coordinates)

“Next update is to plot the locations on the Map!”

    nice work vidal!
you may want to have a look at SpeedLimit (or betimely): Andrew Turner won with his mashup the mapquest API contest, a service that combines calendar information (meeting time and place) + routing service + traffic information (speed limits and traffic reports) and returns up-to-date travel time from one meeting place to another. sort of a traveling salesman mashup…
