I did get it running, but was having occasional errors using GEOS functions. I thought you also might like to know that I was able to compile Postgresql 8.0b1, postgis 8-20 CVS, and GEOS 2.0.0 using the standard GCC 3.3 compiler that is part of the XCode 1.1 update. One thing to note is that if you want to use python with postgres - you cannot compile the python extensions use the -framework approach because GNU gcc does not know about the -framework mac option. So I had to basically do a linux build of python and configure the postgres Makefile manually so that it knew where python lives. Thanx for your helpful page on getting PostGIS to install.
